EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUES - EFT Foundation
WHAT IS EFT?
EFT is a wonderful and simple meridian balancing technique, a combination of Meridian Therapies (acupuncture being the best known of these) plus NLP plus Affirmation-work. In fact EFT has been called: "a psychological version of acupuncture". EFT was developed by Gary Craig www.emofree.com (an engineer by training) in America from his studies and research following his training with Roger Callahan, an American psychologist who created TFT - 'Thought Field Therapy' in the late 1970s. Gary worked on this TFT technique and simplified it so that it was easily useable by non-therapists and therapists and practitioners alike.
EFT was launched in the mid-1990s and has
been used by thousands of very enthusiastic users and therapists in the USA to
dissolve blocks, clear negative emotions and attitudes as well as bring rapid ,
effective relief for fears, phobias, Panic Attacks, Anxiety, Anger, Guilt,
PTSD, Stress, low Motivation, Grief & Loss, Public Speaking, Performance Anxiety,
Sadness and some forms of depression. And it is being used now to help
children who have problems such as ADD, ADHD, hyperactivity, dyslexia, low self
esteem and exam nerves.
HOW DO I DO EFT?
The simplicity of EFT is that you:
(Step 1) think of a situation
where you have an uncomfortable memory (eg I remember when I was 7yrs old and
my teacher said I was useless at maths) - when you do this you are at
(Step 2) where you are actually feeling how you felt in that situation
then - and so then you
(Step 3) just say how you're feeling
" Even though I'm angry about when my teacher said I was useless at
maths", then
(Step 4) you add an affirmation to
this phrase eg "I accept myself" (even if you feel you don't accept
yourself - just say it anyway). Onto
(Step 5) you using your index and
middle fingers to tap about 7 times on specific meridian tapping points around
your face, your collarbone, under your arm, the ends of your thumb and
fingers and side of your hand - and whilst you're repeating a shortened version
eg "angry at my maths teacher" to yourself. The next step
(Step 6) is tapping on the back of
your hand whilst you do certain eye movements (the NLP connection) and then
(Step 7) you repeat (Step 5) again. NOW see how you feel about that same situation after you've 'done the round' of tapping.
IS EFT REALLY THAT EASY?
EFT is a wonderful and simple technique to
use. At times it can be VERY fast. It is important, however, that you 'get into
that feeling’, know where to tap, how often to tap and what affirmation phrases
to use. Affirmation phrases are an
important part of EFT. If you want to

DOES EFT ONLY DEAL WITH SIMPLE THINGS?
