EFT and Goals

 

Whether this is You—the THERAPIST/PRACTITIONER—or your client, there is at times a need to look deeper into what IS   being presented and what’s being held onto, to unearth what’s beneath—indeed some people regard this as using their ‘intuition’ when they ‘know’ they’re not getting to the heart of what’s desired. 

 

Maybe the client doesn’t feel they are moving towards ‘their goals’ as quickly or as fast as they think they should—so are their goals really the right ones for them?

 

When looking at ‘Goals & Moving Forwards Towards Them’ we may need to find out EXACTLY what it is that we want to move towards.

 

 

 

DELVING DEEPER:

 

 

What we can ask is:

 

Ø      What is your goal? 

Ø      What would you do if your success were guaranteed?

Ø      Are there any negative and positive beliefs attached to these goals?

Ø      What do you feel/believe you’ll get when you succeed?

Ø      What might you have to sacrifice (have less of) to reach your goals?

 

 

What we can ask is:

 

Ø      Is it a ‘Fear of Failure’ or a ‘Fear of Success’?

Ø      Are there any Primary/Secondary goals?

Ø      Do You Know Where You Are Going?

Ø      Whose goals are they?

 

 

Explore:

 

Ø      Make a list of your present goals.  ARE THEY YOUR goals?

Ø      Whose voice do you hear when your goals are read aloud?

Ø      Are these goals for you or for others?

Ø      Is this goal worth pursuing?

Ø      How would your life be if there were no limitations?

 

 

 

MOVING ‘TOWARDS’ OR ‘AWAY FROM’ GOALS

 

 

Moving Towards = PULL POWER

 

Ø      What Benefits will you get?

Ø      How do you feel about having this goal?

 

 

Moving Away From = PUSH POWER

 

Ø      What will be the Consequences if you don’t go for it?

Ø      Who comes to mind when you close your eyes?

Ø      Whose voice do you hear when you think of this goal? 

 

 


UNCOVERING YOUR GOALS:

 

Ø      Do You Know Where You Are Going?

Ø      Dealing with Future Objections

 

 

 

RELAXATION TO (in this order please):

 

Ø      Think about how you would feel about NOT having done it yet

Ø      Imagine yourself making the effort

Ø      Imagine yourself having succeeded

 

 

 

USE EFT FOR:

 

Ø      Your feelings about not having succeeded yet

Ø      Your feelings about making the effort

Ø      Your feelings about what we might have to give up

Ø      Your feelings about having succeeded

 

 

Look For Any Future Reversals:

 

Ø      And if found, then use EFT on them

 

 

 

POSITIVE VISUALISING:

 

4 Basic Steps for Visualising Positively  are:

 

Ø      Set the goal

Ø      Create a clear idea or picture of the goal in your mind

Ø      Focus on it often

Ø      Give it positive energy – focus on it using ‘love’ or happiness

 

 

To Help Concretise the Goal:

 

Use the Affirmation Installation protocol, “Right now …”
