Headaches – imaged away
If you have a headache you
could use this ‘imaging technique’ to help it go away. This way you don’t need to take
tablets/medication if you prefer not to, or are in a place where you can’t take
them. PLUS this technique has even
worked with migraine headaches – provided they are caught early enough.
Some of you may recognise it
as having NLP elements to it – which it may very well have, however I was
introduced to it a long time before NLP came on the scene. It works for me.
At the first sign of any
headachy symptoms:
Find yourself in a quite
place
Close your eyes
Take 3 nice deep breaths and
just thinking about your headache
Now repeat steps 1 through
to 6. Notice the differences to when
you did them before, and then repeat just one more time steps 1 through 6
Time-wise you may have spent
only 4-5 minutes concentrating solely on your headachy symptoms. However whilst you have been breathing
deeply you have been helping yourself relax, which reduces the constriction of
the blood supply to your brain which in turn reduces tension in your neck,
shoulder and head muscles and this also lessens the stress of having a
headache. If you can at this stage, please do take a drink of water.
Now you should be able to
function better and get on with whatever you are doing or have to do.
NB: This is also a very
good technique to use on physical pain in the absence of other assistance.
